On the brink of a new era at Ibrox, the 49ers have already been handed one request by the next Rangers manager, who is beginning to form his backroom team.

It’s been an incredibly busy week for Rangers, who called time on Russell Martin’s tenure last week following a disastrous spell in charge. The former Southampton boss lasted just 123 days and picked up just one win in seven Scottish Premiership games. It was a run that simply could not go on, no matter how badly the 49ers wanted their first appointment to work out.

Since then, it has been all hands to the pump in their search for a new manager which is seemingly about to end with Steven Gerrard. The Liverpool legend is reportedly on the brink of returning to Ibrox in his first job in management since leaving Al-Ettifaq in January. Arriving with it all to do, Gerrard will be hoping to achieve the same success as his last tenure, having won Rangers’ 55th league title.

Gerrard, according to former England teammate Rio Ferdinand, is chomping at the bit to get back in the technical area and now has the chance to do exactly that at the club he’s had the most success as a manager.

Rangers have already lined up his backroom staff, with Jermain Defoe, Gary McAllister and Steven Davis set to return to the club with him alongside another previously unnamed coach, who has now been revealed.

Gerrard requests Steve Holland at Rangers

According to The Daily Record, Gerrard now wants Rangers to hire Steve Holland as part of his backroom staff in his first request as manager. The former England coach has been out of a coaching role since managing Yokohama Marinos in Japan in a short spell earlier this year, but could now hand Gerrard a major boost.

Having been the England assistant for four years from 2013 to 2016, Holland is someone that the former Liverpool midfielder should know well and given that Michael Beale’s Rangers return seems unlikely, the Gers should go all out to welcome his preferred choice.

The 45-year-old recently spoke about the importance of leaning on his backroom staff, including Defoe and McAllister.

Whilst they will be important appointments for Gerrard, the experience that a man like Holland would provide is simply invaluable at this stage of his managerial career.

وبموجب الإرشادات الجديدة لن تقام لحظات الصمت أو التكريمات المضيئة إلا عندما يكون هناك ارتباط مباشر بكرة القدم بالحدث المقام.

وقد أكد الاتحاد الإنجليزي لكرة القدم أن قوس ملعب ويمبلي سيضاء الآن فقط في المناسبات المتعلقة بكرة القدم أو الترفيه بدلاً من القضايا العالمية أو الاجتماعية.

Qiana Joseph and Realeanna Grimmond were gone by the end of the powerplay for a combined score of 11 from 13 balls. The good thing for West Indies was that Matthews had faced most of the balls in that period, which ended with the scoreboard reading 36 for 2, Matthews on a-run-a-ball 20.That was the platform, and she took flight against Ayabonga Khaka in the eighth, with two fours and a six, and suddenly she was 38 off 27. ونشرت “ONE FOOTBALL” أن القرار النهائي من لجنة الاستئناف أكد صحة قرار الحكم وقد تم رفض إلغاء البطاقة الصفراء التي حصل عليها هويسن.

وكانت هذه البطاقة قد أثارت جدلاً، ويعني قرار لجنة الاستئناف أن اللجنة لم تعتبر الحجة التي قدمها الفريق القانوني لريال مدريد لإثبات خطأ واضح في قرار الحكم كافية.

ولم يتم توضيح السبب المحدد للبطاقة الصفراء التي حصل عليها دين هويسن، ويأتي قرار ريال مدريد بتقديم هذا الاستئناف بشكل يؤكد تسليط الضوء على أهمية هذه العقوبة والشعور بالظلم الذي تعرض له اللاعب.

وسيتعين على ريال مدريد قبول قرار لجنة الاستئناف وبالتالي فإن اللاعب سيبقى في قائمة اللاعبين الذين تلقوا تحذيراً قبل اللعب في المباريات القادمة في الدوري الاسباني.

It’s been a near-perfect start for Arteta’s side this season, with the Gunners’ imperious defence largely to thank for Arsenal sitting three points clear of Man City at the top of the table.

William Saliba, who recently signed a new deal until 2030, and Gabriel Magalhaes have displayed once again why they’re two of world football’s best centre-backs right now, with David Raya also awarded improved terms after establishing him as one of Europe’s best goalkeepers.

Their solidity was once again evident last weekend as Arsenal battled to a narrow 1-0 win at Fulham, and they hugely profited off yet another dead-ball situation when Leandro Trossard tapped home the only goal of the game from a corner.

While Arsenal’s backline has made all the headlines, the same cannot be said of summer signing Gyokeres, who was brought in to be their main vocal point of attack after two seasons free-scoring in Portugal.

The Sweden international’s arrival for an initial £55 million from Sporting CP followed his extraordinary haul of 97 goals in just over a century of appearances for the Primeira Liga side, but Gyokeres hasn’t exactly replicated that form thus far.

The 27-year-old, after failing to score again versus Fulham, is now on a seven-game goalless run in all competitions, but this could well change at home to Atlético Madrid in the Champions League tonight.

Gyokeres was repeatedly denied by ex-Arsenal keeper Bernd Leno at Craven Cottage on Saturday, and his intent to trouble opposing shot-stoppers has been crystal clear from the get-go.

However, his numbers haven’t reflected this, with the Premier League’s all-time top scorer, Alan Shearer, now sharing his verdict on Berta’s big-name summer buy.

Speaking on the Rest is Football podcast, Shearer insists that Berta paid over the odds to sign Gyokeres for Arsenal, demanding more from the ex-Coventry City forward.

However, while Shearer was critical of Gyokeres’ return, he does explain that the Scandinavian brings something game-changing to the Emirates.

Gyokeres’ ability to hold up the ball and link play allows Arsenal’s creative midfielders to find space and launch attacks, even if he hasn’t yet consistently finished chances.

Moreover, Arteta’s new number nine is still adapting to the Premier League’s pace and intensity, which often takes time, and Gary Neville has tipped the player to “bully” lesser sides once he finds his feet in England.

With regular game time and continued development, Gyokeres’ goal tally is expected to improve, especially taking into account the chances he’s already created for himself on regular occasions in games.

That being said, with Kai Havertz expected to return from injury earlier than anticipated, Gyokeres could be looking over his shoulder if the goals don’t come more regularly soon.
