Despite helping Newcastle United lift the Carabao Cup – their first major trophy in 64 years – earlier this month, Nick Pope wasn’t included in Thomas Tuchel’s first-ever England squad, with the German manager picking Jordan Pickford, Aaron Ramsdale, Dean Henderson and James Trafford ahead of him.

Former Newcastle defender John Anderson believes he was unlucky to be left out: “Pickford is obviously England’s number one and rightly so, but I would say Nick Pope is definitely better than the rest of them.”

Trafford, meanwhile, has been touted as a potential summer signing for the Magpies after what has been a record-breaking season in goal for Burnley in the Championship. The 22-year-old has kept a record 27 clean sheets in 38 games so far, conceding just 11 goals – an astonishing achievement that has put Scott Parker’s side well in the race for automatic promotion.

Magpies eyeing Lammens but face stiff competition

Another keeper who is reportedly on Newcastle’s radar ahead of the summer transfer window is Royal Antwerp shot-stopper Senne Lammens. According to a new report from The Sun, the Magpies are one of a number of clubs alongside West Ham United, Manchester City and Manchester United that have got the 22-year-old on their radar.

The newspaper reports that Lammens is rated at around £30 million, and describe him as a “Guardiola-style” keeper because of his ability with his feet – something that be music to the ears of Newcastle fans given Pope’s well-documented struggles in that department.

Described by football scout Nikita Korneev as “one of Europe’s most exciting young keepers”, Lammens has already cemented himself as Antwerp’s first-choice goalkeeper, impressing in this season’s Champions League before they were eliminated.

A regular for Belgium’s U21s, he was also recently called up to Belgium’s national team for the first-ever time and could yet become the long-term successor to Thibaut Courtois for his nation.

Recently, Lammens opened up on being linked with a move to Old Trafford, saying: “The first time I heard it, I thought, ‘Wow, a world team that follows you. That is special.’

“They are still just rumours,” he explained. “Those top clubs have so many scouts and follow so many players. So it doesn’t have to mean anything yet. It will only become clear in the summer whether anything comes of it.”

وحصل 16 فريقًا على بطاقة التأهل إلى منافسات المرحلة المقبلة، في نسختها الأولى بنظامها الجديد، كمتصدر ووصيف، بينما ودع عدد مماثل البطولة.

وتُعد تلك هي النسخة الأولى من بطولة كأس العالم للأندية بنظامها الجديد، الذي يتضمن مشاركة 32 فريقًا.

ولا يقتصر التحديث على عدد الفرق، ولكن المكاسب المالية، حيث يحصل كل فريق على مبلغ مالي مرموق جراء مشاركته في البطولة، ويختلف حسب القارة.

إلى جانب وجود مكاسب تخص كل فوز أو تعادل في دور المجموعات، بخلاف مكاسب التأهل.

ورغم خروج 16 فريقًا من البطولة، إلا أن كل فريق منهم نجح في تحقيق مكسب مالي ينعش خزانته، ومن ضمنهم الأهلي المصري.

وفشل الأهلي في التأهل إلى دور الـ16 بعدما اكتفى بالمركز الرابع في المجموعة الأولى، حيث حقق نقطتين جراء تعادله أمام إنتر ميامي وبورتو.

ويحصل كل فريق متأهل من قارة إفريقيا على مبلغ مالي قدره 9.55 مليون دولار جراء مشاركته في البطولة، مع العلم أن الفوز في مباراة في دور المجموعات يعني مليوني دولار، والتعادل يعني مليون دولار.

وحقق الأهلي مكسبًا ماليًا بعد خروجه من البطولة، يُقدر بـ11.55 مليون دولار، ولكن ماذا عن الفرق الأخرى؟ هذا ما نشرته صحيفة “آس” الإسبانية عبر تقرير لها.

ويتربع مانشستر سيتي على قائمة الفرق الأكثر تحقيقًا للأرباح المالية في تلك المرحلة من البطولة، بمبلغ قيمته 54.3 مليون دولار، حيث حقق العلامة الكاملة برصيد 9 نقاط، بعدما فاز على الوداد، العين ويوفنتوس، وسجل 13 هدفًا واستقبل هدفين فقط.

ويحصل كل فريق مشارك من أوروبا على مبلغ مالي قدره 12.81 مليون دولار، كما أن مكسب التأهل إلى دور الـ16 يعني الحصول على 7.5 مليون دولار، بخلاف مكسب الأداء الرياضي.

أما أقل الفرق تحقيقًا للمكاسب، هو أوكلاند سيتي، الذي لم حقق نقطة واحدة فقط، جراء تعادله مع بوكا جونيورز، وسجل هدفًا واحدًا واستقبل 17 هدفًا، ليحقق مبلغًا ماليًا قدره 4.58 مليون دولار.

Cricket Australia have pulled Alyssa Healy and Ellyse Perry out of the women’s Hundred at short notice after they sustained injuries during Tuesday’s second ODI against Ireland. They will both miss Friday’s third and final ODI before returning home for rehabilitation.Healy has been keeping wicket throughout the tours to England and Ireland despite multiple injuries, but suffered a new fracture to her left index finger on Tuesday. Perry, meanwhile, has a left-knee injury which kept her off the field in the second innings on Tuesday and, according to a CA release, will require up to six weeks of rest.They were due to play for Northern Superchargers and Birmingham Phoenix respectively and were among the highest-profile overseas players due to play in the Hundred this year. As a result, their withdrawals are an obvious blow to the competition.But they are offset in part by the news that Jemimah Rodrigues will return to Superchargers for a third successive season, having signed a last-minute replacement deal to cover for the injured Heather Graham. Healy, meanwhile, will be replaced by left-hander Phoebe Litchfield.Rodrigues, 22, was the second-highest run-scorer in the first season of the Hundred but missed the majority of last year’s competition with a wrist injury. وكان كايسيدو قد أثار القلق حول لحاقه بمباراة باريس سان جيرمان بعد تعرضه لإصابة في الكاحل ضد فلومينيسي.

وتلقى اللاعب صاحب ال23 عاماً العلاج على أرض الملعب وحاول في البداية إكمال بقية المباراة قبل أن يخرج من الملعب.

وكان إنزو ماريسكا مدرب تشيلسي قد أعرب عن تفاؤله بفرص لحاق اللاعب في وقت سابق من مساء الثلاثاء حيث قال: “نأمل أن يكون لائقاً يوم الأحد، سنرى”.

وقال صابر، إن حارس وادي دجلة، دخل في غيبوبة، بعد تدهور مفاجئ في حالته الصحية خلال الأيام الماضية.

وكتب عبر حسابه الشخصي على موقع التواصل الاجتماعي “فيس بوك”: “لا حول ولا قوة إلا بالله العلي العظيم.. حالة بونجا غير مستقرة تاني ودخل في غيبوبة تاني”.

وتابع: “نسأل الله العظيم رب العرش العظيم أن يشفيه.. الدعاء يغير الأقدار، كل اللي يشوف البوست يدعي له بنية خالصة لوجه الله يقومه لأولاده بالسلامة يا رب العالمين”.

وتعرض أبو النجا، لأزمة صحية وتدهورت حالته بشكل كبير، حيث نُقل إلى أحد المستشفيات لتلقي الرعاية الطبية العاجلة، لكن حتى الآن لم يُصدر وادي دجلة أي بيان بشأن حالة اللاعب.
