علق أحمد سليمان عضو مجلس إدارة الزمالك على تجديد عقد أحمد فتوح مع فريق الكرة بالقلعة البيضاء، موضحًا حقيقة وجود أزمة بين اللاعب ومحمود عبد الرزاق شيكابالا قائد الأبيض.

وقال أحمد سليمان في تصريحات تلفزيونية عبر قناة “إم بي سي مصر”: “الزمالك طوال عمره يريد الحفاظ على ابنائه، وخلال الفترة الماضية كل شيء وارد وأن يحدث تقويم لأبنائك والنادي مر بظروف صعبة”.

وتابع: “ممكن يكون لديك ابن أخطأ فلن تقوم بطرده من بيتك عندما يعود لرشده ويلتزم ويدخل في المجموعة ويندمج، وأشكر اللاعبين والجهاز الفني، كانت هناك ظروف صعبة في الفترة الماضية ويوجد تحسن ملحوظ داخل الفريق”.

وبسؤاله هل تم حل أزمة فتوح مع شيكابالا؟: “لا توجد أزمات، هما بمثابة شقيقين، وشيء وارد أن تحدث خلافات في البيت، لكن في النهاية البيت يحافظ على كيانه، وهذا نادي الزمالك وهذا دور الأب المتمثل في مجلس الإدارة، وكلنا نعمل الصالح لكي يظل الزمالك شامخًا”.

وحول هل أعتذر أيمن ممدوح عباس عن رئاسة شركة الكرة؟: “هو من الناس القريبين من مجلس الإدارة ونادي الزمالك، لكن حتى هذه اللحظة كل ما يقال عن الشركة هي أسماء لم يتم تداولها في مجلس الإدارة”.

وزاد: “تلقينا أكثر من عرض وكنا سعداء أن يكون الزمالك متواجدًا في معسكرين من يوم 18 حتى 29 يناير في مدينتي أبو ظبي ودبي”.

واختتم: “تلقينا إخطارًا من رابطة الأندية أن بطولة كأس الرابطة ستقام يوم 7 يناير، درسنا الأمور بشكل كثير جدًا، توجد لدينا إصابات واللاعبين انضمت للمنتخب الأولمبي والقائمة الأولية لمنتخب مصر بها 5 أو 6 لاعبين، وجدنا أنه يجب أن نعتذر عن كأس الرابطة”.

Manchester United are believed to be closing in on a new deal for their 32-year-old shot-stopper David de Gea ahead of the summer.

Who are Manchester United giving new deals to?

It was recently announced that Luke Shaw has put pen to paper on a new deal that would extend his future at Old Trafford for another four years.

And there is a lot of talk surrounding a potential new deal for Marcus Rashford too as his contract nears its final year at Old Trafford.

However, this comes amid the ongoing issues off the field at United with the club's potential takeover put into serious doubt over recent days.

It has been suggested the Glazer family could now look to remain at the helm in the hope of further increasing their return on investment over a longer period.

Despite this, it seems as if the club are keen to lock down some of their biggest assets and their Spanish goalkeeper could be another one in line to be handed a new deal.

Indeed, speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has claimed the two parties are closing in on a deal to extend De Gea's stay:

(4:30) "So the decision is really close and on the same page between Manchester United and David de Gea. They are discussing the final clauses of the contract. The feeling is very positive as they want to continue together.

"The structure of the new contract is being discussed, but into Manchester United, they feel that David de Gea will be the goalkeeper next season and De Gea wants to continue there. So the conversation is still ongoing but going very well since end of February and so the feeling is positive."

Do United need a new goalkeeper?

Considering the Red Devils have been on the end of a few heavy defeats this season, their defensive record has held firmly strong.

Only four other sides in the league have conceded fewer than United's 37 this season and this comes on the back of a 4-0 defeat against Brentford and that 7-0 thumping against Liverpool.

And in the process of keeping a fairly tight backline, the Spaniard has earned himself the spot at the top of the tree for clean sheets kept this season with 14.

After keeping his clean sheet on the weekend against Nottingham Forest, the £375k-per-week ace was hailed by BBC's Garth Crookes for his display:

"The most difficult period for a goalkeeper is when he has nothing to do and then is called upon at a moment's notice. If there is one goalkeeper capable of winning a match having spent a considerable amount of time out of the action it is David de Gea," he said.

"His performance against a stubborn Nottingham Forest wasn't anything special but thoroughly dependable."

However, things didn't go to plan last night as De Gea put on a bit of a horror performance, which wasn't helped by Harry Maguire's mistake for the first goal.

With concerns off the pitch apparent at Old Trafford regarding the ownership of the club, perhaps there is some comfort to be taken in Erik ten Hag nailing down a core group of players ahead of the summer.

There are expected to be a number of defensive changes at United over the transfer window and perhaps that will only see De Gea's number between the sticks improve.

Thomas Brolin is often regarded by Leeds United fans as one of the worst signings in Premier League history but Georginio Rutter could be about to take his crown at Elland Road.

What happened to Thomas Brolin?

Leeds would sign the Sweden international in 1995 for a 'hefty price tag' after he had starred at the 1994 World Cup in the United States, scoring three times as the Scandinavian side finished third.

Brolin was widely regarded as a world-class player because of his performances on the international stage at the time but did little to prove that under the management of George Graham and Howard Wilkinson at Elland Road, mustering just four goals and one assist in 19 Premier League appearances for the club.

A brace in a win against West Ham United saw Leeds briefly get the best out of Brolin but the Swedish forward was seemingly not keen on playing on the wing and produced a self-confessed "rubbish" performance away at Liverpool in the next game as the Yorkshire outfit were trounced 5-0.

The Swede's poor attitude meant that he would only start once more in a Leeds shirt, and he was completely ostracised, before joining FC Zurich on loan.

He returned to Leeds under the management of Graham but only damaged his reputation with the club and its fans further when he failed to turn up to pre-season training in England due to a bird hitting his windscreen en route to the airport.

Unsurprisingly, he was moved on not long after and certainly isn't fondly remembered by Leeds fans, and yet he could still be said to have had a bigger impact on the pitch than Rutter, who has barely been seen since his club-record arrival from Hoffenheim in January.

What's gone wrong for Rutter at Leeds?

The young Frenchman was perhaps signed for his long-term potential but given the money that was invested in him by Victor Orta, you would have expected him to have far more of an impact so far.

He has been limited to just one start and nine substitute appearances in the top flight under Javi Gracia, averaging a shocking 6.19 rating from WhoScored, which sees him ranked as the 24th-best performer at Elland Road after failing to find the net.

That one start in the Premier League saw him labelled a "non-entity" by Leeds writer Beren Cross after an anonymous display against Chelsea, and he's barely been seen since, as he was left out against Leicester and Fulham in the last two games.

The Yorkshire outfit made the 21-year-old their club-record signing and are continuing to pay him £70k-per-week to sit on the bench, so his lack of game time is somewhat baffling.

Considering Brolin was at least able to score in his limited appearances, Rutter's lack of impact thus far could soon see him claim the unwanted title of being the worst signing in the club's history, especially if he departs should Leeds go down.

Chelsea are closing in on the potential appointment of Mauricio Pochettino as their next manager ahead of the summer.

What's the latest with Mauricio Pochettino to Chelsea?

The Blues are now over a month on from parting ways with Graham Potter and they remain with an interim manager in the dugout at Chelsea.

And it seems as if Frank Lampard will remain the interim manager until the summer as the Blues look to make an appointment to take charge at the end of the term.

Talks are still ongoing with their Argentine target, Pochettino, who is now believed to be the outright favourite for the vacancy at Stamford Bridge.

However, talks have now been going on for a number of weeks with the former Tottenham Hotspur boss with no real breakthrough yet to be seen.

Chelsea did not play over the weekend which saw them slump down to 12th in the Premier League table following Crystal Palace's victory. And, things got even worse tonight as they succumbed to a 3-1 defeat against Arsenal.

But off the field, it seems as if talks are seeing a potential deal to bring the 51-year-old to the Bridge are edging closer to finally finding their Potter replacement.

Indeed, speaking on his YouTube channel, Fabrizio Romano has issued an update about the managerial search ongoing in west London:

(0:45) "The conversation between Pochettino and Chelsea is ongoing, it's going to continue in the next hours and days to reach final agreement.

"We know that [it's[ very close. Already last week the conversations were really positive. With that mission of Chelsea board, two members of Chelsea board [went] to Barcelona to meet with Mauricio Pochettino – he lives in Barcelona – and so to discuss about the possibility of this Chelsea job it's very advanced, but it's not something completed yet."

Should Chelsea appoint Pochettino?

It is perhaps surprising to see the Argentine so open to a potential move to Stamford Bridge given his connection to the north London side.

In the past, Pochettino has made his feelings known about the Blues as he suggested they were viewed as more of a rival to him than Arsenal during his time at Spurs.

And it is apparent the fans in north London were keen to see the Argentine return following the sacking of Antonio Conte.

But with this in mind, it is perhaps a positive in Pochettino's favour that he is willing to damage his reputation with Spurs fans to take over at the Bridge.

After all, there are a lot of young talents currently in the Chelsea squad which Pochettino will surely be relishing the opportunity of working with.

His time at Spurs was renowned for the work he done with their youth prospects and that is something he could certainly implement at the Bridge.

There is a lot of work needing to be done to turn around this Chelsea side, and Pochettino is a manager who was awarded time in north London to implement his philosophy.

If Todd Boehly can provide the Argentine with patience, he certainly has the track record to develop a young side but it is very dependent on the faith put in him by the board.

واستكمل: “نبني جسورًا وتواصل ومحبة وعلاقات مع نادي فيوتشر، لأن ما لمسناه من وليد دعبس هو الحرص على ذلك”.

Manchester United's search for a defender could take them to Vanderson, with reports from Spain via Sport Witness stating that the Red Devils are keen to sign the player this summer.

What is the latest on Vanderson to Man United?

The Red Devils are currently fourth in the Premier League and will have hopes of holding onto that spot and bagging themselves some Champions League football in the next campaign.

If that is the case, then boss Erik Ten Hag will need to ensure his side have plenty of depth to be able to compete regularly both domestically and in Europe. It's previously been reported that the Red Devils are prepared to let the manager sign another defender this summer in order to strengthen his backline. With Harry Maguire potentially departing – which would free up funds and space – and with Diogo Dalot also a target for Real Madrid, it could lead to further need for another right-back at United.

Now, the Premier League side are prepared to launch an approach for Vanderson in order to add to their right-sided options in the summer. According to Spanish media outlets, via Sport Witness, the club are currently in a race to sign the Monaco man, fighting interest from Barcelona.

In another boost in their pursuit of the 21-year-old, his current team are "willing to sell" according to this report. All Ten Hag's side need to do to secure his signature will be to fend off the competition from Barcelona.

Should Man United sign Vanderson?

The Red Devils already have a talented option at right-back in Dalot, with the former Porto man really impressing at Old Trafford this season. The 24-year-old has a 6.97 rating on WhoScored this campaign for example, and that makes him one of the top five best performers in United's squad this season.

If Madrid were to poach the player though, then Vanderson could be a suitable replacement or even a very good depth option. The 21-year-old has similarly impressed for Monaco this year in Ligue 1, managing a score of 6.94 on WhoScored and also ranking amongst the top five performers in his team.

In addition, the right-back is a younger option than Dalot and with an average of 2.6 tackles and 1.6 interceptions per game (the joint-best rate at the club), he has proven his excellent defensive ability at a good level. He's also been labelled as "exceptional" by boss Phillipe Clement, who hailed his "adaptation" to the league and added that he is a "huge perfectionist".

Vanderson then has already impressed in Ligue 1 and could be a real steal from Man United if they opt to bring the player to Man United during the transfer window.

An understandably emotional Moore spoke to the media about how disgraceful his side's performance was.

“It’s understandable (fan fury),” he told The Star. “Because the emotions are where they are. I can’t put that game into words now, because as a manager you’re disappointed as well.

"I need time to reflect on the game – the result wasn’t good enough and it was a difficult night for us… It was unacceptable.

"I was really angry on the sideline in terms of the manner of the third goal, obviously as a manager it’s frustrating and your emotions get embroiled in it as well. Obviously you don’t want it, we didn’t come here tonight to be on the end of that result, we’ve not prepared and worked all week for that."

Sheffield Wednesday face Peterborough United again in the second leg of the semi-final next week Thursday but they will have to be drastically better to stand a chance of winning the second leg, let alone the tie itself.

A four goal deficit is nigh on impossible to overturn and is a huge disappointment.
